Good afternoon!

We started off the day today by working on a reading activity that followed a girl baking with her mom.  This story focused on how liquids and solids change and work together to make different things.  It discussed how we use a variety of liquids, solids and gases everyday with a variety of activities.  During math the children worked on telling time and addition and subtraction (grade one) and worked with 1/4 fractions and geometrical shapes (grade two).  In science the children learned about international safety symbols- what they look like, what they mean, and how they can help.  They also completed a review of the unit with a partner to reflect back on what they learned and any questions they might still have.  The children also went to music, french and P.E classes.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, practice weekly spelling words for the test tomorrow, practice rehearsing poetry, and cursive page 73 - 74.

Important information:  The math make-up test will be happening tomorrow at lunch recess for those students who missed the test, or need to re-take the test.
Marked culture brochures will be going home with your child tomorrow night. Their brochures should provide them with all the information needed to help them prepare for their culture presentation taking place on Monday.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
