Good afternoon!

It was a great day today, with great temperatures outside!  The children finally got to have outdoor recess, which they quite enjoyed.  In our classroom, they started off the day by working in their journals.  The children were asked to use two spelling words to write a story with a picture to follow.  The children then moved on and worked in their spelling books where they practiced proofreading, and worked with suffixes.  During math time the children wrote their unit three math test.  The marked tests will be coming home with your child tonight.  During social studies the children continued working on their culture brochures.  Many children finished their brochures today and so far they look great!  We have one final work period to complete these brochures, and then the oral presentations will begin.
The children also went to french and P.E classes.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, practice weekly spelling words, have math test signed and brought back to school, finish Language page 72 - 73 if necessary.

Important information:  Tomorrow is pizza day.
Math tests need to be signed and brought back to school tomorrow.  For the students who scored 84% and below, they may write the math test again on Friday at lunch recess.  The re-test will be very similar to the review, and the tests that have been sent home already.  Please review these items with your child before Friday to ensure their best results.
Lots of forms were sent home over the weekend.  Please make a note that pizza forms do not need to be brought in for Ms. Brasil.  They can be brought to the movie night on Friday.  But overdue after-school care forms are required as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
