Good afternoon!

We had a great day today.  We started off the day today by finishing our paper mache masks.  The children have all completed their Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe masks and will be bringing them home tonight.  They are really quite nice so keep your eye out for them!  We then moved on to our spelling tests, and worked on our spelling books and language.  Marked spelling tests will be coming home tonight.  During math the children continued working on 3D shapes.  They worked in groups to create structures using different solids, and then evaluated different structures based on the shapes that were used.  In health today we continued talking about health and nutrition.  The children learned more about 'Grow' and 'No-Grow' foods and learned why it is healthy to eat local.  Ask your child tonight to share it with you!  They also went to french class.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, re-write incorrect spelling words ten times each, and Language page 125 - 126.

Important information:  The Easter Bake Sale is beginning on Monday.  Chocolate chip cookies will be for sale during lunch recess for $1.50.

Ask your child tonight to fill you in on the amazing prizes that are up to be won for the skate-a-thon fundraiser.  The child who collects the most money in the school wins an Ipad!!!  Also, a PS3, an Ipod Touch,  a Lego set, a giant Barbie house and other great prizes can be won by your child by collecting donations!  Please have your child bring their pledge form  back to school as soon as they have collected any money.  Every time they bring in a donation they get house points, and their name is entered into a class draw to win a  prize!

Please bring in the information sheet on your child's grandparents as soon as possible as this is required to send out invitations for the upcoming Grandparents' Day concert.

Jewel, Temi and Shannon still have not brought in their skate-a-thon field trip forms and money for the trip.  This was due today.  Please send it in as soon as possible.

An information sheet is going home tonight about the school's uniform policy.  Please see the form in regards to how your child should be coming dressed to school.  I have made individual comments in a few children's agendas today about issues with how they were dressed so please keep your eye out.

Have a great weekend!
