Good afternoon!

We had a great day today.  We started off the day today working on language.  The chiddren practiced creating sentences, worked with capitalization and examined the special sounds in words.  During math we continued with our new geometry unit.  The children examined different 3D shapes and counted their faces, edges and vertices and then used these numbers to compare shapes.  They also practiced adding and subtracting, temperature and money.  We read a story today about cylinders in 'the real world'. Ask your child tonight an example of a cylinder in your home!  We began an art project this afternoon where the children started making masks out of paper mache.  That was a lot of messy fun!  They also went to french and drama classes.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes, practice weekly spelling words, Language page 124, and math page 166 - 167.

Important information:  An important form came home with your child tonight requesting information for the upcoming Grandparents' Day concert.  Please send back the completed form as soon as possible.

Pizza forms for May went home with your child tonight.

The marked rubrics for your child's book study is also coming home with them tonight.

Math re-tests were completed today at lunch and will be coming home marked with your child tonight.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
