Good afternoon!

It is nice to see we have so far avoided this snow storm I keep hearing about!  We started off the day today by correcting sentences in our journals and then creating an illustration to compliment the writing.  The children also worked on finishing stories and creating questions in language.  During math the children worked on addition and subtraction of two digit numbers and place value (grade two) and addition and subtraction of single digit numbers (grade one).  In our social studies period the children had their final computer research period to gather their information for their rough copies.  Tomorrow we will be beginning the good copies (our brochures) which the children saw today. They seem excited to get started on them which is great!  The children also went to music, french and P.E classes today.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, practice weekly spelling words, Language page 69 (grade two), complete culture rough copy sheet if necessary.

Important information:  Tomorrow is pizza day.  Most of the children have the rough copies of their culture project completely filled out, but a few children will be bringing their rough copies home with them to complete the remaining section(s).  If anyone is interested in purchasing something from the Scholastic order, please have the funds and forms back by this Friday.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
