Good afternoon!

In today's class we started off the day by reading an article about liquids, gases and solids in the environment.  The article focused on how our earth is filled with these elements, and how important it is not to pollute so they can be protected.  In math we continued on working with money.  The children were asked to split up various amounts of money fairly between a group of friends.  There was also a review on how to tell time and the difference between digital and analog clocks.  In science we continued on with liquids, solids and gases by having experiments with these various elements.  Liquids were poured together to see if they mix (oil and water, milk and water), solids were dissolved into liquids to see if they change shape (salt and water, pebbles and water), liquids were turned into solids (ice), and more!  This was a fun way to see how these elements act and react differently when modified.  Ask your child tonight to tell you the three elements our earth is comprised of, or what pollution means.  The children also went to music, french and P.E classes.
Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, practice spelling words for the spelling test tomorrow, cursive pages 71 - 72, and math pages 71 - 72.

Important information:  Tomorrow we are having our final show-and-tell.  Jewel, Abel, Shannon, Alex, Klara and Nathan will present for the class.
Next Tuesday we will be having our math unit test on Time, Temperature and Money.  A review sheet will be going home tomorrow night.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
