Good afternoon!

We had a great day today!  We started off the day by working in our math books.  The children practiced adding and subtracting two digit numbers and working with temperature (grade two) and counting money (grade one).  In language the children correctly finished sentences about Aaron's serpent and then practiced their proofreading skills.  We also started a new science unit today on The Properties of Liquids and Solids.  The children read a comprehension activity about chemical safety and watched a video about household chemical safety.  The children also went to music, french and P.E today.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes, practice weekly spelling words for the test tomorrow, and Language page 74 (grade one) page 68 (grade two).

Important information:  Tomorrow we are beginning our first round of Show-and-Tell.  Julia, Jaymes, Victoria, Temi, Jessica and Nathan will be presenting.  The rest of the class will present next Friday (Jan 14th).   Please see my blog from yesterday for more information about these Show-and-Tell presentations and how you can help your child prepare.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
