Good afternoon!

We had a great day today!  We started off the day by working on language.  The children worked on suffixes, finished sentences, wrote stories and practiced matching.  In math today we continued on with our numbers unit.  Today we practiced composing and decomposing numbers in various ways using snap cubes.  It was a nice method of having some hands on practice working with numbers.  We continued reading Pipi Longstocking today as well and then wrote a language response to the story.  Today the children wrote a story about The Day I Was a Thing-Finder, based on the chapter we read.  They also went to french and drama classes.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, practice weekly spelling words, Letters and Sounds page 130 - 131, Math page 179, complete language story, and This Is My Life Cycle due Friday.

Important information:  Please see my posting yesterday regarding the take-home science assignment that is due this Friday.  The children all brought the assignment home last night and must have it to bring back to school to present on Friday.

The Skate-a-thon fundraiser deadline is this Friday (May 6th).  Please make sure all money is brought in to the school by Friday morning.  Prizes will then be drawn and awarded!

The final math re-test was completed today at lunch recess.  Children are bringing home their marked math tests with them tonight.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
