Good afternoon!

In today's class we started off the day with a language activity that focused on using apostrophes to show possession.  In language the students worked on identifying the special sounds in words, rhyming, finishing sentences and practised cursive.  In math the children worked on word problems and counting pennies, nickles and dimes.  The students also worked on their letters back to Mr. Sawatsky's class.  The students also went to french and drama classes.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, practice weekly spelling words, and finish cursive pages 59 - 60 (grade two).

Important information: Scholastic book order forms went home and need to be brought back with a cheque as soon as possible. Picture retake money needs to be brought back to the school by the 30th. Signed math tests need to be brought back to school.  The math re-test for unit two is going to take place on Friday at lunch recess for students who need a retest. I recommend that students who got 80% or lower take a retest to improve their marks.  Please study the tests and review sheets with your child to ensure the best results.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
