Good afternoon!

In today's class the students started off the day by working on Bell Work where they were asked to proofread the sentences provided to them and correctly record them in their Bell Work books.  The students have a lot of fun with this competitive activity!  I language today the students also worked on their Language books where they focused on contractions, and practiced their cursive in their cursive books.  Students also completed a Language assessment where their skills with capitals, punctuation and sentence writing were tested.

In our Unit of Inquiry today the students worked hard on their good copy versions of their stories.  A great deal of effort is going into these stories, as the students have been informed the stories will be published into a class book upon their completion!  In today's class the students completed their good copies, and began working on their dedications and 'About the Authors'.

During mathematics today we moved on with our geometry unit and began discussing congruent figures.  As a class we discussed the meaning of congruent figures, explored how to identify congruent figures, and began drawing our own congruent figures.  In tomorrow's class the students will create activities for their peers in which they draw a variety of congruent figures for their friends to identify!

The students also went to PE and French classes today.

Homework: Read for 2o minutes and record in the reading log, practice weekly spelling words and Language pages 62 - 63.

Important information: A Polar Expression consent form went home with all students last week. This is in regards to a contest that all SJA students participate in. Our class has already created the poems we would like to submit for the contest. In order to submit them we need the consent form signed by parents. Please fill out the information on the form and send it back to me by tomorrow as we must submit our entries by Wednesday.

Parent /teacher forms have gone home with all families tonight.  This form needs to be completed and returned back to school ASAP.  Interviews times are provided on a first come/first served basis.
We are excited to announce that St. Jude's Academy is going to be hosting an author visit for SJA students and their families! Cecile Marie, a children's book author, will be visiting us on November 26th at 10am to share her stories, answer questions and sell her latest books. Parents and family members are welcome and encouraged to join us for this fun event. Cecile Marie's books will be for sale at the end of her talk for $10. Half of the proceeds of the sale of her books on that day, will be donated to SJA for the purchase of books for our own school library. Purchasing her books is optional and not a requirement of attending the author talk. We look forward to seeing SJA grade 3 families out on the 26th!

Next Wednesday, November 27th is the next Casual Day at SJA.
