Good afternoon!

We started off the day today by working on language.  The children worked on proofreading, syllables, created sentences, and cursive.  During math the children did a review of double digit adding and subtracting, counting using order, and time and money.  As a class we read another chapter of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and the children worked on their book studies in their literature groups.  They also went to music, french and P.E classes.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, practice weekly spelling words, Letters and Sounds page 90, cursive page 89- 90 and book study chapter 12.

Important information: Please see my posting last night regarding a need for volunteers to speak to our class about their time living in another country and how it compares to Canada.  We would love for you or someone you know to come in for a few moments for some first hand insight to the way of life in other countries.

We now have received enough boxes for our upcoming craft project.  I am still requiring newspaper, string and pieces of cardboard though.  If you have any of these items at home to send in with your child over the week that would be great!

Next week there have been some fun Spirit Days organized by Mr. Sawatsky's class.  They are hoping that children will bring in some spare change or their allowance to participate.  All proceeds will be going towards the earthquake recovery in Haiti.
Monday March 28th: Crazy Hair Day
Tuesday March 29th: Pajama Day
Wednesday March 30th: Wacky Hat Day
Thursday March 31st: Mismatch Clothing Day
Friday April 1st: Movie Madness Day (come dressed as your favourite movie character)

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
