Good afternoon!

In today's class we started off the day by reading a story about the history of the poppy.  The children read about why we wear poppies, and what they symbolize.  Ask you child tonight to share something they learned!  The children continued on by writing their spelling re-cap test.  Marked spelling tests will be going home with your child tonight.  The students also worked on the days of the week, months of the year, compound words, odd and even numbers, and learned about Greek Gods and Goddesses.  At the end of the day the children went to french and drama classes.

Homework:  Read for 15 minutes and record in the reading chart, practice spelling words for the spelling test on Friday, complete math pages 62 - 63 (grade 1) 48 - 49 (grade 2), re-write any incorrect spelling words ten times each in their spelling books.

Important information:  There will be no school tomorrow so that families have the chance to go and pay their respects on Remembrance Day.  School photo forms and funds need to be returned by the 19th if you would like to order any school photos.  ROM trip forms and monies need to be brought back as soon as possible.  Monday is picture re-take day.  If your child needs another photo taken, please send them fully dressed and ready on Monday morning.

Best regards,

Mrs. Nelson
